Atfer from the ruAts of later Neolithic Age at Tangqiao
village, Chenjiabu 5KM away from Chengguan to the northeast,

Shouzhou of HuaAtan. At about 1073AD, it belonged to Shouchun
of HuaAtan.
At the third year of Jianyan in Nasong period (1129AD), it
belonged to Jing for a period. At the twelfth year of Shaoxin,
it belonged to Anfeng, after a short time, it belonged to
Shouchun.
In Yuan period, it belonged to Anfeng.
In Ming period, it belonged to Fengyang.
In Qing period, it belonged to Anhui province.
At the first year of Minguo (1912), it belonged to the forth
section of Anhui.
During the period of 1914-1917, it belonged to Huaisi.
At the eighteenth year of Minguo (1929), there was a insurrection
lead by the Party. It named as Hongcheng County by the Party
in 1932.
In 1932 it belonged to the forth section of Anhui. In 1938
it belonged to the seventh section of Anhui. In 1940 it belonged
to the third section of Anhui.
In September 1947, it became Huogu, administrates 1 town
and 4 sections.
In October of the same year, it was separated into Huoqiu
and Huogu.
In June 1948, the two combined and belonged to the first
section of E-Yu area.
In January 1949, Huoqiu was liberated. In October 1949,
the people's republic of china comes into existence.
On February 1st 1949, it named Huoqiu. In May of the same
year, it belonged to the special administrative area of Lu'an.
In 1952, it belonged to the special administrative area of
Lu'an of Anhui province.
In March 1971, the special administrative area of Lu'an
changed its name as Lu'an prefecture. Huoqiu still belonged
to it.
