　　Physical culture work get new achievements in carrying out Compendium of Plan of Keeping Fit for the Whole People and the stratagem of "promoting physical by science and education". "Mail Cup" long race with thousands of people, "Xinkuai computer cup" bridge game, "telecom cup" martial arts contest and a large performance on the square with a theme of "enter the 21st century with a healthy body" were successfully held in 2001. These games have got very good effect in making the life of the crowd more colorful.
Teams of our county made good achievements in city and province games. We win 6 gold medals in the province tournament of judo, wushu and taekwondo, there are another 5 players in no.4 to no.8, earn premium ￥7,500 in total. Our basketball team wins the second prize in "Shouzhou Hotel Cup" friendly invitational basketball game. We win 3 gold medals in wushu tournament in Shou County. We improve our gym industry energetically and prepare good players for the superior team. The gym school was enlarged in 2001; it has 200 students in it now. after authorized by the county government, the gym school will have senior department in the second half of 2002, this indicates the gym middle school of our county already begin to be normalized.

Medical treatment and sanitation

    　　Sanitation enterprise improved steady. There are 736 medical treatment institutions in the whole county, include 1 traditional Chinese hospital, 6 central community hospitals, 27 country hospitals, 1 epidemic prevention station, 1 health care station, 1 nurse school, 694 country clinics and 3 departments of medical industry and other branches. There are 1,691 medical technician all over the county, 1,149 in them are doctors, there are another 1,214 country medical workers, 60 individual doctors and 19 school doctors. There are 1,607 hospital beds all over the whole county.
